Literature Text

If you told me today that you were gay,
I'd hold you tight.
If you told me today you think that you're bi,
I'd whisper encouragement in your ear.
If you told me today that you were in the wrong body,
I'd hug you and say, "Let's go shopping."

If you came to me to say they beat you today,
I'd kick their asses right back
If you came to me to say they called you a fag,
I'd let you cry on me
If you came to me to say they told you that you weren't worth anything,
I'd pull you close in an embrace,
'Cause I've been there,
And I can tell you,
After all's said and done,
YOU are the one,
Who can overcome,
And succeed.
I'm digging through my old files because I'm hyper and I can't sleep. Sorry about dumping a crapload of stuff in the middle of the night!

This is an old rant I did, or part of it, at least. I actually signed it "The LESBIAN" and intended to post it around campus (I think), but... Let's just say the second half is quite mean and not elegant. =D

You need to fix the punctuation errors. Other than that, this is a good poem.
